I have been working with wood most of my adult life beginning with construction. My transition to wood craft has been slow and painfull. I have sculpted in wood, made the requisite bird houses and feeders and most recently built an artist easel from some incomplete plans I found on the net. My next project will be an artists' box that I will mount (somehow) on a camera tripod that no camera fits.

I love the router but it certainly doesn't love me. The last time I used it (for the easel) I burnt and actually bent the shaft of the 1/2" straight bit I was using. Granted it was a cheap bit but jeeze. Anyway, being the tightfisted sort that I am, I wanted to find out if I could make a dovetail jig, so I found this site and decided to join. I'm also very lonely.
