| Registered User | [font=Arial][size=4][color=Blue] Hello, all!! My name is Linda S. and I have been married to my DH for almost 44 years. We had a new home built for us and have been here for 3 years. We have 3 adult "kids" and our dog who is going on 19. We both feel blessed to be able to live on our 40 acres of woods, pond, and creek. There is abundant wildlife here and we really enjoy waiting for and watching them when they come to "visit". I pray that we never tire of the wonder and beauty of all about us. We are in the process of building a sewing/craft room in our walk out basement. When we are done with this project we will be starting on his woodwork shop. He has been looking forward to this for so many years--buying power and hand tools--waiting for the day he can get into woodworking hot and heavy!! He has quite a bit of experience working with wood, having had woodshop in highschool for 4 years, then had been a patternmaker apprentice at US Steel when he was out of highschool, before becoming an apprentice for Local 697 IBEW. He has built many things from his own plans and they all came out wonderfully well. Yes--I am bragging!! I have joined this forum mainly to get help in choosing a palm router. The other reason is that DH doesn't know anything about computers, yet. And, believe it or not--he's getting along quite well without it!! LOL I would like to purchase a palm held router for our anniversary for both of us to use. I would appreciate your help with this and all opinions will be taken into account when buying one. Thank you in advance. I saw one of the home dec shows on TV where one of these gizmos was used. It looked like something that would really come in handy at times, even though we do have a big router. I have looked online and it seems that Bosch has three models with the Colt being the most popular. What do you all have and do you like it? Thanks..... Linda S. | Registered User New Member | Hi, Linda! I have the Bosch Colt and love it. It has gotten very high marks in every review I have read. Mine is the variable speed one, I don't know if it's necessary, but I tend to buy any tool that it's offered on instead of the single speed. |

| Senior Moderator Supreme Forum King | Welcome to the forums. The one you should go for is the model 20 with the multiple bases. This allows you to perform many difficult jobs with ease. The variable speed feature lets you slow the bit down to reduce burning or for use with larger bits. The Colt is top rated in comparison testing.(Just like all Bosch routers)

| Forum Moderator Supreme Forum King | Welcome Linda! I sounds like you live in paradise, a zip code most of us can only dream of. As recommended, the Bosch Colt is a great little router and one I myself own. Another model to consider is the Porter Cable 310. While I have no first hand experience with this router myself, I have read many many positive reviews of it. This model has been around a very long time and has a proven track record so you may want to check it out before a final decision. We hope to see you around on the forums and be sure to get hubby on here as well.

| Registered User Forum Geek | I have both and they are very good small routers. The PC 310 is no longer being build,or so I read in a woodworking magazine, If true I would certainly recommend the Bosc. Regards Jerry |

| Forum Moderator Supreme Forum King | Jerry is correct and it appears that the 310 is no longer being made, but there are still a few new ones being offered for sale. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw...ter+cable+0310
