| Registered User Member | I was looking for tools and in particular guide bushings and found the forum. Home base is Wisconsin, USA I'll likely have to ask this question in the forums but my reason for joining here is to get a good step by step with pictures of the process to do flush mounting of square shapes. The application is building audio speaker cabinets. My magazine collection gives an example in audioXpress from June 2001. But the article is kind of cramped and I need a lot of explanation on the details. I've also made a thread on this for diy audio forum called 'flush mounting drivers the whole story' to get all this info together for speaker builders. Lastly, where is the best deal on guide bushings? cheers |

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi Ion (not sure if this is your name) this is your lucky day, there are tons of illustrated threads and posts showing the type of operation that you are interested in. I shall spend a little time checking past threads a and post links for when found. In the meantime will all members please note Ion's request "with pictures of the process to do flush mounting" At last, I'm not alone in pushing for pictures and I'm pleased to see more and more members are catching on to the idea. As an after thought, don't things change with time, in all my years repairing speakers, I never came across a square one, but don't worry, a square recessed opening to flush mount a square driver presents no difficulties.

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | I've just found this shot in my gallery which shows how easy it is to make templates for cut-outs with straight sides, as distinct from ones to make round cut-outs which would use one piece of MDF and make the hole with a circle cutting jig. When you have time to spare look through members galleries, you will find lots of interesting stuff. http://www.routerforums.com/attachme...-not-mine-new-

| Registered User Member | I've only first seen these posts today after signing on here several days back. The email notification came through just before writing here. Yes, I'll go through what pix you have. I also made a new thread called Fear Of Tools which describes the same flush mounting dilemma and asks what sort of hold downs or other recommended procedures are used on such a job which I've seen illustrated with no fence. I didn't see any answers on the thread (which is at least a bit humorous) so I thought the post was ignored. It's pretty late here and I'll look at things tomorrow. At DIY audio there's lots of pictures of builds and build processes. But truth to tell, I own no digital camera nor camera of any kind myself. Never had the knack or the desire to make photos. Plus my workmanship level is not very high. Most of the builds I make can have Franken- in front of the name. Lon |

I think one of my posts got dropped here because of a url link I made. This is the first time I've run into the situation where a required number of posts has to be made before a url can be inserted. So the post got dropped. Anyway, over in the fear of tools thread I said I found a good book by Bill Hylton on router tables which shows lots of detail. The reviews thread on the router I want to get said that the best price Sears ever put the unit at was $60. That is a good number for me. I know, I know. There's always been talk about the Craftsmen stuff being junk but I've seen the piece at the store and it looks like it has everything including soft start which, for table use, seems to be ideal. Plus local return for defect is a plus. | |

| Registered User Member | No big deal but there might be a notice posted. I'm continuing with the Hylton book which is very good for those not handling a router before. |
