| Registered User New Member | Newbie to routing signs and here to learn from all you experienced folks. It appears you are limited by the selection letter/font/size templates. Most of what I've found on the internet are standard block letters. |

| Registered User Forum King | Welcome to the forums, ChiefJohn You are mostly correct on the style of lettering using a hand router and jigs. The alternative to hand routing is carving or CNC routing. Using the CNC method you can achive 3d pieces as well as your lettering. Welcome John

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi chiefjohn, you may like to have a peep at this freehand sign that I routed last year.using a suitable computer programme, I used Corel Print House, choose the font and size then print it as a banner, place this on the wood with carbon paper beneath then off you go. Good look and don't forget to ask questions if needed. http://www.routerforums.com/portable...hand-sign.html

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Chiefjohn, even though I've been routing for more years that I care to remember, that sign was my first attempt at freehand routing, and I was amazed how easy it was but you must use a plunge router. Get stuck into it and ask questions whenever necessary.
