Default router parts search

Just bought used router at goodwill. Have some missing parts. I searched sears parts but nothing available for my model#315.17380,parts I need are#76 eye shield they say call for possible availability, this I can make, #72 lock knob already homemade, #39 locking lever I can make, #38 spring also I can make. But part # 27 pinion gear is striped of 4 teeth; ow I just had a thought weld & file humhph, maybe a bad idea lets see hardened steel, tempered unknown alloy I give up. Anybody have one for parts. My business partner has one and teased me with an offer of parts but he checked and of course his garage sale find $5 was in perfect working order with all parts included. My luck I paid $25 but this project tool has hope.

I know this is a long shot but many who list Craftsman routers for sale on eBay Don't get them listed right...that's to say with with the right model number,,,,with some luck you may find one that will work...

A guy on eBay sells parts only for the Craftsman/Porter Cable tools/routers, I'm sorry I don't have his add booked marked but I sure you can find him like I did...he may have what you need at the right price

It is more than likely a Ryobi router. You might have luck contacting one of their parts suppliers. You can scroll thru the parts catalog and see if one looks like yours.

hope this helps

"Diehl Manufacturing Co.
Elizabeth, NJ; Somerville, NJ

This company was a maker of electric motors and motor-powered products. They were a supplier to Sears, with Sears model-number prefix 315. They are known to have made handheld electric drills and bench grinders. At some point they became the Diehl Division of Singer Co. (Diehl was a longtime supplier of motors for Singer sewing machines.)"

This is quoted from Old Wood Working Machines web site . A bit convoluted but an excellent resource especially when dealing with Sears and Craftsman products. They do have some sears manuals and if you have a manual for an older machine, they'd appreciate a digital copy.

I didn't know that Diehl made any routers. My suggestion, scrap the problem before it becomes a danger, go with your buddy to the garage sales, but stay off my turf :-) I still need several more routers.
