Default New around here

Hey guys! Just stopped by to register.
Although I've been a hobby woodworker for years, I had never used a router before until a couple of weeks ago.
I've been making small wooden birdhouses and squirrel houses, wooden speaker cabinets, and oddball wood projects (musical band signs that light up, etc...).
I bought a router a couple of weeks ago and it has opened up a whole new world of woodworking to me.
I'll be hanging out here and reading what you guys are doing, and asking some questions along the way.
Thanks for having me aboard!

I'm a second degree blackbelt in Shotokan karate. I teach several martial arts as a hobby.
As I'm getting older, it's getting harder to keep up with the younger guys. Most of them are half my age!
Thanks for the welcome!
I'm excited about my new routing hobby. I made a nameplate today for our office squirrel that we keep at the park office, and screwed a stick on it as a visual border fence on the bottom of the squirrel. I couldn't put a finish on it because she eats everything wooden in the office. But I painted the inside of the letters. It was freehand again like my Park Ranger sign from last week. I think that I need to buy some templates though for this type of work.
I'll probably have some template questions this week...
Thanks again for making me feel welcome!

Hey BB, your nameplate looks (pun intended) sweet to me. Thanks for the info.
