Hey there hot rod, welcome! I don't know much about speakers, so I'll certainly keep an eye on you. Hopefully I'll learn something. Stick around and you'll be amazed at how much you can learn from these very guys that have already welcomed you here and many more. This is a great forum.

Hi John,

well, since getting into Vinyl a few years ago, I listen mostly to jazz, classical, and 60's and 70's rock. I usually have either an ipod or one of my turntables playing music into a tube amp then through any number of my vintage speakers (Ampex, Jensen, Advent, Dynaco, KLH). My basement is FULL of all sorts of audio goodies

very cool . . . England put out some of the best speakers available. I've had a pair of BBC stdio monitors pass through my hands (LS3/5a's and a very cool pair of Goodmans Maximus 3's)

most of my favorite vintage speakers are even older than 1964 - that is about when efficiency started dropping off (acoustic suspension / solid state amps . .) mostly, I use drivers from the 50's so the higher efficiency is a good match with my tube amps.

Hi hot.rod

With vintage amps and vintage speakers, and vintage music,,,,,,,, I'm getting nostalgic vibes already.

I never really got into the audio aspect of music, I can respect and appreciate vintage equipment though.

You bring a great hobby and exceptional knowledge to the forum. You and Harry seem to speak the same launage.

BTW I really enjoy 50's to 70's tunes. I cut my teeth on that kind of music, and a great time in my life.

Have a great day
John
