Default Hi from Maryland

Hi everyone, my name is Scott and I'm from Maryland's Eastern shore. I just purchased a Porter Cable 892 router and it seems pretty functional. Once I get a handle on using the bits, things should become more enjoyable lol. I think I may be buying a router table next as that seems like a nice feature from what I've been reading.

I really don't know what I'm going to do with the router as of yet, perhaps surf for some router projects...anyway, if anyone uses the 892, let me know as I have some questions about setting the depth properly as the instructions don't seem to be working for me.

Thanks in advance!
Scott

Hey Scott, my bad. Let me welcome you to the Router Forums and appologize for missing your post. We really are a friendly bunch and DO NOT snub members. A table is a great idea. Much more safer with a table. Please feel free to ask any questions you have. We have a mix of experienced and knowledgeable woodworkers on this forum. Again sorry, and welcome aboard.

Hi Scooty, and welcome to the forums.

I too am sorry for missing your post, but hopefully make it up by saying a big HELLO....

I do not own a PC but it is on my wish list for the very near future. Have you considered building a router table.

Have a great day
John

Hi Scott

When you get the new table, post a coiuple of pictures. The wood chips will fly then

There are some members on the forum that can do most anything with a router and table. I always looked at it as a tool I use in conjuction with other tools.

Looking forward to some pictures.

John

Hi Scott, I'm Dave and from North Central Md, Carroll County, so let me know if you get out this way
I'm new here myself, but not to woodworking. We also have Larry Norton from the Waldorf area here as well.

Yet another welcome to the forums Scooty. There are many ways in which to use a router, click on this link to see just one of my earlier threads.
