| Registered User Jr. Member | Hello all, I'm a fairly new woodworker but have made a few minor things. I'm interested in buying or building a router table and when researching it found this site. I have two routers right now (an old Craftsman and a PC 690LR). I'm looking for something more powerful for the table. From what I've seen so far, I'm in the right place for great information. | Registered User Forum Fanatic | Hi Steve, Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will receive many different opinions about "The Best Router", but really the decision is up to you and what you want to do with the router. You can comfortably work with any router mounted in a table, as you indicated you want to do. The big difference will be in what it is you wish to do. Routers come in varying HP and the bigger the job, the more HP you will need. As for the table, sure you can build your own and there are many plans for them, or you can purchase one, like the Oak Park table (KISS principle). What is it you wish to get started with building? I assume since you are from Texas, it has to be big, hahahaha. Joe Z.

| Registered User Jr. Member | Hi Joe, Actually I'm going to start with something small. When I decide on/get my setup I'm going to make some pull out drawers for my wife's pots and pans. Maybe then I'll look for something big. ![]() Steve |
