Default Is it time to elect new Forum Contributors?

The position of Forum Contributor was started years ago, before I joined the forum. Its purpose was to honor those members who went above and beyond to post jigs and projects, create tutorials, and answer members questions on how to do something. I am not aware if there was any sort of time span which was intended for the position to be active before the honor was to be passed on but it was meant to pass on eventually.

It has been a few years since Oliver (Gaffboat) and Stick (Stick486) were elected and they have served the position well. They have certainly done honor to the title. So the question being put to the members is whether it is time for a new election or should we keep the status quo. If replaced, Stick and Oliver would become Retired Contributors which is still obviously an honor. And I doubt that becoming Retired Contributors will mean that they will stop doing what earned them the titles in the first place.

So it's time for discussion on this and if it looks like a poll is needed we'll start one. If it is decided that it is time to share the honor then a period will take place for nominations and then a period for voting. Thanks in advance from the Moderator team.

I like the idea of adding more. It's an elite position and I don't think there should ever be a limit on how many people can be nominated.

At the moment just asking if we should. Nominations will be the next step if we decide to go forward with it.

Not understanding why Stick and Oliver can't just keep there title as "Forum Contributors" , and add a few well deserved new ones?

I'm in favour of Ollie and Stick remaining (if they wish too) as they are and the addition of a couple more. My 2c's worth.

Since I'm fairly new here, correct me if I am wrong. If they are the original contributors, you could add that to their title. Then as more are added, they would continue to be recognized as having been here for the start of the elite title, so to speak. I also agree that those are some very good nominations.
