I assume what you're looking for is some type of Computer drafting/drawing program - I work with Autocadd and Microstation basicaly all day (when I'm not goofing off here!). These are fairly expensive (Thousands), powerful programs and require quite a learning curve - not what I assume you're looking for. Maybe take a wander through this link for starters: http://www.broofus.com/construction/cad/index.htm
Also some of the freeware sites will have some drafting programs, but I believe you need to be cautious with what you might download at some of those - not sure what others on this site are using - it's not talked about that much.

Restore, another site that may be worth looking at - never used it myself but some coworkers told me about it - for what it's worth:

This threads bouncing around a little bit (like my check book balance), but PopPop found another one - looks like for Cabinet design that might be helpfull to folks as well at this thread:
http://www.routerforums.com/tools-woodworking/2089-info-software.html

I am curious what others on this site might be using for plan design.

Hey Gilbear, I just downloaded the free version of Cadstd. It looks interesting. I'm going to see if I can design something on it. The Cadstd Pro version is only $25.00, so if I can do anything with it, I'll buy the prg. Problem is, I have a real hard time figureing out how to use some software programs. Let me know how you like it.

Hey Pop!
Haven't been able to play with it too much yet, but it seems pretty good to me - kind of like a user friendly version of Autocadd - pretty nice. I'm guessing you won't have too much trouble figuring it out, and their help files are pretty good as well. Specific problems, let me know and we'll stumble through it together! You can't beat the price - it's about 10 times cheaper than Corell.
