Default Looks like Google's Confused Too!

Looks like Google's add is confused too!
There's an add for Computer routers and switches that shows up periodically at the bottom of this home page - makes me wonder if this forum is possibly getting adds in the same way on a Computer forum somewhere "routing" some of the computer folks over here!

Gilbear, good question. I'm not sure but that is definatly possible.

I believe the Google ads work on a "page content" basis. Meaning, if page has content regarding "candy" the ads will dynamically change to advertisements regarding "candy". The idea behind that concept is, the user clicked the link because its a page of interest. So, considering that specific user is interested in "candy" they're more likely to click the ad and purchase the product(s) of that advertiser.

Like you said the term "router" is used in both woodworking and computer networking, therefore I can see where the google ad software can get confused
