| Registered User Supreme Forum King | Since I really don't want to be baby sitting on "how to" do this... please if you are not savy with what is going on here please do your home work before asking any questions. Now since I'm not sure how legal any recordings are this information is provided as educational material only and does not mean that anyone might or should use information this to capture the data stream from the woodworking channel and save it on their personal computer. Requirements: First you will need to spend about $50 for the software... You will need to install the software and set it up. You will need to have a compatable computer and operating system. To get you started go to: www.wmrecorder.com I will add the following as a hint for the higher speed link: rtsp://a1630.l2277450612.c22774.n.lm.akamaistream.net/D/1630/22774/v0001/reflector:50612?WMStartupProfile=0&KLI_D=3000568 This is subject to change at anytime... Ed Good luck

| Registered User Supreme Forum King | Found my other notes: the ending number of 3000568 (streamid) is for the 300k, the 100K one is 3000569 and the 18K one is 3000570. From monitoring for a while the 300K max's out at 308Kbps.... it is a 340 by 240 video size (somewhere around 270 Kbps) and it is 16 bit stereo (sample rate of 22KHz). This is well with in the range of DSL so I have gone to the higher speed. Much better then the video data rate of about 80 for the 100K stream. So give it a try. A half hour of 100K = file sizes less then 23,000KB A half hour of 300K = file sizes less then 66,000KB (observed data). Ed

| Registered User Forum Geek | I am considering your method. I work nights for a major wireless carrier and don't have a lot of time. I'm sure that the files can be moved to CD ROM for mass storage. That way you won't miss vital episodes, etc. -Derek |

| Registered User New Member | Interesting post Ed. If you do a search on Google for 'streaming video recording', there is some alternative software vailable. 60 Mb downloads via 56k dial-up could be a problem though - although, on the bright side, viewing the saved stream in Windows Media Player allows a bigger picture.
