Charles; you seem to have a lot invested in your "models".
NOAA/NASA Temperature Corrections Are Junk Science At Its Worst | Real Science
Dr. Judith Curry has gone from being a (rational) proponent of AGW to a fierce critic of fraudulent science, and in the process has incurred the wrath of the AGW acolytes.
Her steadfastness in the face of increasing attacks from the warmists has endeared her to we skeptics.

I kinda like this one.
January | 2014 | Climate Change Sanity

Here's an excerpt.

Quote:
Al Gore repeatedly said, in print, “the Arctic will be ice free by 2013”. Gore made this claim in print in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

And it didn’t happen. In fact the Arctic ice cap’s surface area increased by more than 25% in 2012-2013. The much-larger Antarctic ice cap also increased, by about 5% using NASA data. NASA, which is a fully warmist institution peddling the “CO2 hypothesis”, has been forced to admit the Antarctic ice sheet is now at its largest since it started regular satellite monitoring in 1979.

NOT correct

QM hasn't been successfully challenged -EVER - by anyone - at any time. I posed that to display what a successful theory is supposed to be. Even you can't believe the same can be said of AGW. Multiple posts on this thread alone have sited numerous polls, petitions, papers and articles that bring AGW into question. The challenges are valid because the "proof" on AGW isn't there. If it were the predictions wouldn't be calling for continuing temp rise while little to none is recorded. We would see increases in tropical cyclones; instead two years in a row we see the lowest output of tropical cyclonic energy "globally" since the numbers began being taken in the early 1970's. And if sea levels are on the rise why do I keep seeing more and more of the bottom of Mobile Bay? All of this requires more and more complex explanations to fend of the detractors such as the suggestion that the "heat" is some how being sequestered in the deep oceans which, conveniently, can't be verified.

Isolated pockets of support won't help the cause if the middle letter in the horror acronym stands for GLOBAL.

On the subject of common sense, science has it's own counterpart. Its called Occom's Razor. The simplest explanation is most likely the correct one. The simplest explanation is that any warming or cooling we may see is simply a continuation of what has come before. It's cyclical, and predominantly solar.
Again another incorrect statement - All of this requires more and more complex explanations to fend of the detractors such as the suggestion that the "heat" is some how being sequestered in the deep oceans which, conveniently, can't be verified.

AS FOR Occom's razor - CO2 has been proven to BE RESPONSIBLE FOR the equilibrium ( YES PROVEN _ THERE IS LONG STANDING FORMULA for the effect that relies entirely on thermodynamics and physics) from minus 28 deg C to plus 14 deg C. More CO2 in the atmosphere must therefore further increase the effect though if you lok up the formula I referred to you wil find it is not linear therefore the increase from the pre indust. 283 PP to the presnt 400 has not had a corresponding proportional increase.

A recent paper cited in a New Scientist periodical that I read stated that the temperature in the Pacific was indeed higher and measurements showed that much of the increased global heating is absolutely occuring in the ocean. Try looking of a scientifically scrutinised paper that refutes this -

Really - somehow the message does not get through. If this load of bunkum was factual the writer could publish it in the journal "Nature" say - this is one of the most prestigious journals in science. There is no barrier to any paper or for refusal as it just needs to get through the scrutiny of reviewers. Debunking thousands of previous papers that give the opposite view would win the author a Nobel Prize that apart form world fame would carry a million or two whatever it is of $s.

Ok explain why such an amazing piece of intricate scientific work only features in a crappy blogg.

Here is an idea - you rewrite the science in your own words , publish it in a science journal and we can all say we knew you before you became famous

I wish I could get published - if only .

And here is some clear thinking -

I have never quoted Al Gore as a rwference . He is a politician not a scientist though I agree with his message regarding the impending doom brought about by CO2.

When he gets published in science I will take note - meantime I will rely on the scientific community. By the way no papers were published saying that the polar ice caps will disappear in that time frame. THe reduction in the arctic ice cap is undeniable and real nevertheless!!!!!!

Charles,

I've read other articles about the independence of Journals, but this one caught my eye because of its recent publication.

Nobel winner declares boycott of top science journals | Science | The Guardian

This one here goes to the point of why different opinions don't always get any press.

Editor Explains Reasons for 'Intelligent Design' Article

Sometimes work doesn't make a distinguished journal because those in control have a differing opinion.

Don't get me started on intelligent design. Has anyone else ever crunched the numbers on the probability of randomly obtaining one specific 200 amino acid protein? Clue - if all the mass in the universe was composed of nothing but amino acids that wouldn't be enough to go through a ridiculously minuscule fraction of the permutations.

Harry, if I get challenged I promise to start a new thread.
