| Senior Moderator Supreme Forum King | I do Mark. I predict I lost all interest when the Wings flopped. What an embarrassment!

| Registered User Forum Geek | Mike, that's pretty much exactly where I am at this point, really disappointed with the Wings. Mark, it would certainly be nice if Edmonton brought the cup back to Canada. Brian

| Registered User Forum King | To be honest, the Oilers will win, they have the heart and just enough talent. But they have the one ingredient that I also find on this site, they believe in each other....so there you have it. Canada will once again hoist the cup. BTW, don't be embarassed, the Oil are a much better team than what people have given them credit for. They just needed consistent goal tending. If you were wondering, I should be the one who is embarrassed. I'm a Canuck fan....have been since their inception...sigh.... KarateEd |

Currently they're at 3-0 I'm quite confident that the next oiler home game will seal the deal! ![]() Also, buffalo is currently at 2-1, I'm sure that they'll take the eastern.

| Senior Moderator Supreme Forum King | Mark, surprized? When the league stirred the pot with first the lock out and then all the changes they did their best to level the playing field. (or should that read destroy the game?) It seemed like every time I watched a game I asked: when did they get him? One example that baffles me is Darren McCarty going to Calgary. Darren was very involved in many parts of society here in Hockeytown. His band Grinder, charity golf outings, The McCarty Cancer Foundation just to name a few. I know he didn't start here but I really thought he would go to the end of his career as a Wing. As long as the Ford family owns the Lions we pretty much assume we will never see a Super Bowl trophy.(Even a 50/50 season seems out of reach!) The Pistons do pretty well, they work hard and win a fair amount of the time. Baseball is way too boring, It's like watching a chess game; you are far better off playing it instead of watching so the Tigers are not that important. The Red Wings are the bread and butter for people in Hockeytown. (should I of said pizza? Sorry Mike Illitch!) Fast paced, hard hitting action (A tip of the hat to Joe "The Hammer" Kocur for splitting an NHL helmet off a players head with his fist) Solid work ethics and outstanding sportsmanship (Yes, the Captain... Stevey Yzerman) and excellent coaching made this team into winners. Folding in the first round of the play offs was heartbreaking. Plain and simple: The Oilers wanted it more, worked harder, and they had luck. It hardly seems right that a team from a state that can't spell Zamboni, let alone know what one is made it to the finals. But such is life... full of surprizes.
