We hit 110 degrees today (in the shade), with a heat index of a 115-120 degrees. I hope that everyone else isn't having these high temps. I've been waiting for the temps to start dropping before even thinking of trying to do any work out in the shop.

Sorry about your luck [or heat] there Hamlin. It is a blistering 73* here. Quite a relief from what we had. Nothing quite as bad as your temp, but the humidity was terrible. Here's hoping you get some cool time in your shop. Remember to drink plenty of water.

MichaelHaney has a little shameless behaviour in the past

The difference between my 110 (Golfing weather) and your 110 is that you have a bunch of humidity. My shop is out on my back porch, so I don't always have a chance to work either. I guess that is why I like those re-run video broadcasts of The Router Workshop. When the going get's hot, it is better to watch than try to do.

Sorry Ken

That's why I live in Aspen, not to hot not to cold, the temp runs about in the 80s most of the time in the summer with 10% humidity.... , now for winter, well you need to like snow it will get 8ft high sometimes or more at the front door but it's a great time to work in the shop.....if I can find the door hahahahaha, we have all cut plywood and the smell from that cut will fill the shop up with fresh smell of pine, that's the way may shop smells all the time with all the pines trees around the shop, great place for a wood worker to work... ....like me ,it's a great smell for wood workers and one I look forward to all the time. they should make a under arm spray for the wood workers that smell like pine not the pine cleaner but real pine trees.
Hey you smell like a tree !, yep I know, you love it don't ya. (not the base but the upper part with the branches ) (We do have dogs here) hahahahaha.

Hamlin, I can sympathize. Last week when we had "heat index of 115" (just a way of saying 100 deg with 99.9% humidity) I had to keep a towel on hand to wipe the sawdust and sweat off my arms. Worse, the humidity was so bad, that the box joints I was cutting were getting "fuzzy". Waited a day or two for things to dry out and the cuts were clean.

Bob, I spent a week up in Ever Green Co. once. Loved every minute of it. I do love snow and very cold temps. however, the body don't really like it much any more, 'course, the body isn't liking the heat too much either. lol I usually keep a small piece of cedar here.. when the smell begins to drop, just do a lil' sandin and a nice room refresher.

Micheal, that's why I have the dvd and the vcr player(s) hooked up. Re-runs much better than sweatin and getting no-where with your woodworking. Speakin of golfin... I do more beer gulpin than golfin .

Doug, I hear ya 'bout the humidity. I'm used to the high levels we get here. However, when we hit the triple digits... isn't much a person can do 'cept stay in with the ac on. Paint doesn't dry, lumber absorbs the moisture, etc. etc.

"It is a blistering 73* here." LOL, I can't remember the last time we hit 73... I think back in april or may.

Stay safe all, goin back to my ac.
