I am just as puzzled as you Joe and have mentioned it on previous occasions. Is there anyone out there who can offer an explanation? If visitors didn't find this forum interesting they wouldn't keep coming back, so if that's the case, why in the world don't they become members, it's not as if there is a joining fee. Not only that, but only a very few of the large membership actively join in, why is it so?

The forum just in the time I have been here has a lot of added features, forums etc. It is a pretty large front page and if you notice you have to scroll all the way down to the Lobby area to find the place to vote. I expect that some never make it that far while they are visiting. I not sure how people surf the site. I find it easiest to surf by using the Today's Post button and if all members did that they would easily find the vote thread.
On another note we have the Forum Contributor voting right at the top of the page and I think the contest voting should be located right there and make the link blink or something It just needs to be noticeable.
Note in other contests that have gone on and on for some time that their were multiple emails that went out with a vote link that took you to it. I don't think one has ever gone out during this contest.
Anyway, just a few of my thoughts.

Originally, this was posted so that it would show up AT THE TOP of the page... so it would have a better chance of being seen.

It has subsequently been moved back down to where it MAY not be seen...

Good Luck...

... and PLEASE Vote!

Well..I can tell you how I surf the site and why I did not vote.

I check new threads a couple of times a day and when this thread came up I tried to vote, I just couldn't figure out what I was voting for. By the time I found the voting thread, that took me to another thread with the projects on it, the problem was this: I would have had to search through nine pages of a thirteen page thread to find photos of the projects. After doing that, I would have to remember which I liked most. I've inhaled a lot of sawdust and tile dust over the years so that would probably require looking at them all one more time. Unless I missed a particular thread in which all the projects were lined up, this would have been the process in order for me to give a fair vote. I know the post number was next to the projects, but...that still would have required surfing at least nine different pages. I coulda built a router table with that amount of time.
If, in the thread in which I was asked to vote, the one with the projects at the top with the button, each project were linked to a photo of it, I would have voted.
If I could have clicked on the link, seen the photo, click on the next, etc. I definitely would have voted. I'm a bit OCD so I'll usually stay with something a bit longer than most. I can't imagine someone that only checks the site once a day or so, way too much work.
Just my two cents, hope it helps a little.

Very good Tileart!!

I have had the same problems!

I think my idea of having the Names "Linked" to what we're voting for... that way, all you'd have to do is click each name, maybe it would open a new window, & see what we're voting for... Then click the others, also into new windows, easil to see all of the entries, study by clicking the various windows, and when done, close them and VOTE.

Would make it much easier...

Maybe Mark can help... or maybe the tools are there right now... don't know.

Thanks for ur 2 cents!

Just for the record I requested that the project thread be cleaned up of all posts other than the entries, the request was denied. Another request was made that the "entries only" be copied to a new thread and that request was ignored. Either of these actions would have made things much easier and a little less cumbersome.

I apoligize for any inconveniences I caused and lack of knowledge in linking individual posts to a poll. I did the best I could with what I had to work with.
