What do you mean "the feedback" problem? The only time I had feedback was when I was talking with either you or Mike.... of course, you two are the only people I have talked to on it.

Yes, Mike and I were talking and it appears that my very expensive $5 headset/mic was the issue. Using the builtin mic and a pair of headphones eliminated the problem completely.

I don't use any of the messengers most are a back doors into your computer and are always open ,all the time when your on the Net....you must take care with them, I always disable the messenger service in the Windows OS...
I use this small free program to let me run the computer my way, many, many hidden ports in Windows OS....
Many of the new popups on your computer are coming in via. the backdoor(s) and the messager door, they are using it to get to you with the pop ups...

Service Controller XP 2.2.61 it's free stuff

Service Controller XP is a handy interface that allows you to control your Windows (NT/2000/XP) services.
You can instantly see which ones are running and view detailed information about all the standard Windows services.
In addition, the program provides information that lets you decide whether to enable or disable a service.
It prevents you from accidentally disabling critical operating system services and suggest whether to disable a service or not based on the use of your computer (e.g. Default, Gaming, Internet Gateway etc.)

Bob, I never had a problem with my old computer until my son started using AOL IM on it and then the problems started. Haven't allowed the use of any of them on this one and I have used the Service Controller since you told me about it and have very few problems.

while I was out of town last week, I was standing in front of the hotel elevator waiting with another guy and it was taking forever for an elevator to come to the lobby. This guy standing next to me said... " The elevators must be running Vista " He was a computer tech. Got a kick out of that!

Hi Corey

Vista is junk and it maybe MS down fall many of the new computers have it on them and are being returned and most are asking for the XP to be put on it....and the sad part some of the new computers are made to run the new OS and that's it....without a return to the Mfg. for a total work over so they can run XP....

what? vista is not junk i have vista on my lap top, yea it has its problems but think about it all "Windows 98,2000,04" ecct have had their bugs needed to get out of. Vista isnt slow i dont know what that tech guy was talking about. All the problems are is compatibility issues and that is fastly coming to an end as they are coming out with many printers ect compaible with vista. Vista is the best windows out at the time if you will just have patients, the security is awesome, it asks you yo do absolutely anything, if you open something from mail it will ask if you want to allow it ect...i cant believe everyone bash's on vista.

im sure most of you are flaping your mouths and dont even own a pc with windows.
Would you like to rephrase that? I would say 99.5% use Windows..

Vista is the biggest bloatware, piece of garbage MS has ever put out..
It sucks the resources right out of your machine..

I've been using computers since the 70s, and I guarantee you don't want to get into an argument with me about how crappy ALL versions of Windows are..

It's too bad IBM screwed up with OS/2..
