1947? was it a foot powered lathe? Sorry Harry, couldn't resist.
Have fun with your new toys, and by the excitement in your posts, it looks like you've already gotten your money's worth!

enjoy!

Harry,

Looks like you're getting geared up for some new F U N !!

I see pens, p e n s, and more PENS in your future!

Can hardly wait to see what kind of Templates you will manage to design for the lathe! Whatever you do, it will be very good... I know.

OOOOOOOOOOH Boy Harry now you went a did it. Becareful turning is addictive. I see you went with the Shellwax that is some good stuff for finishing good choice there. Now I hope to see some photos of your turnings and make sure when you show that shiney new orange lathe make darn sure it has some shavings and dust on it. You are going to have a spin with new tool I can see it. Pun intended

Not quite Doug, but it was driven from an overhead pulley by a wide flat leather belt, as was the metal lathe and wet grinding wheel which was about 2' 6" dia. and about 5" wide, ah, happy days!

The only pictures you can expect from the lathe Dave, will be any finished items that look half presentable.
I expect wood turning to present a very long quite steep learning curve and can't envisage a time when I will present photo-shoots in competition with the experts on this forum. Once I get started I shall be in a better position to ask heaps of specific questions, the sort that Tom and I expect from members wishing to enter the wonderful world of template routing. (I can't help getting in the odd plug!)
