This is really hard.

I have been in the hobby since i was about 12! loved all the years i could make stuff for people. I have been thinking about everything. I dont have a job and i dont have money. Even when i get a job i still wont have time for the hobby as i have many more. I believe it is time for me to kinda put this hobby behind me. I will miss everyone here. You all have changed me so much and helped me out more than you know. It all comes down to the money aspect! no money= no wood = no projects. I will stop by every once in awhile to say hello and see how everyone is doing.
For now.
So Long!!

Jeff!

I have to say thanks much to:
Harrysin-You have tought me many new things and helped me solve many problems whether it be me just being curious or it be a real question.
Mike- keep the forums up and running smooth. You have done a great job! Keep it up!
last but not least
Glenmore- we both have gone through hard times at about the same time. You also have tought me many techniques that i will never forget and will take those with me when i pick up the woodworking hobby again.

It's really sad to see someone who obviously has close ties with people here say goodbye. We'll look forward to when you pop in once in a while and in the meantime, please have a rewarding and fulfilling life in whatever way you can. Just remember, you can get free wood in the way of pallets, cutoffs, etc....if wood availability is ever your problem.

Anyway, best of luck to you Jeff.

Ed......:-)

Jeff., put all your efforts into finding and keeping a job, save as much money as you can, and one day you will be able to afford to indulge in expensive hobbies. I doubt that any of us on this forum equipped our sheds (shops) in one go, they have been built up over an extended period of time. Good luck to you Jeff., you are still VERY young (about 18?) so have plenty of time to achieve your goals.

Jeff don't give it completely up. I've not been able to get out to my shop for quite awhile. Yes I have the wood and tools but can't do anything yet. So like you I go to this forum and others still to get new ideas. Hate like heck to see you go. You'll learn a lot even though you don't have the supplies yet but it will give you ideas on projects and what tools to start out with. So stick around and learn for now.

Hey Jeff, I'm an arthritic 52 yr old who has no job, no money, no prospects of ever working again because of my health, "but" i will "never" give up trying to make things out of wood, every project i undertake hurts me no end and can take day's, weeks to finish. I can't afford to buy every tool in the shop, in fact i never have, all my tools are the cheapest going but i still make stuff.
I have never bought timber in my life i use pallets (as karateed said), or stuff from dumpsters (skips in England), so get your ass into gear my friend and start thinking positive. Even if all i had was a penknife and a branch i would try and make something, if i can, you certainly can.

Jeff
Good luck on your future endevours and wish you well.
Life is not a destination but a journey!
May I suggest you don't put the woodworking behind you but "keep it in your pocket" for when you want to continue that journey.
All the best
John

I dont plan on giving up on the hobby! like i said in a post above! i plan on getting back into the hobby full time. The biggest reason is i dont have much time these days because i am about to graduate and then get a job.
I guess Mike dosent get on too much anymore? i thought he would reply by now.
