Default It was a great idea

You no doubt remember that Bernie recently was presented with a Tormek T7 sharpening system together with accessories by his wonderful wife and that I answered by saying that I had emailed a copy of Bernie's post to MY wife.
Well, eventually my wife realised why I had sent her a woodworking link and instead of laughing as I expected, she simply asked how much they cost and even after I found the current price of $995.00 PLUS accessories she said that she would pay for one! Being close to 75 years of age and already fearful of buying green bananas, I agonised over it and decided that such expense wasn't justified, however, at the annual Perth wood show that I went to yesterday, apart from the T7, there was a model 1206 being demonstrated and cost $539.00, it's smaller but I was assured that it did everything that the T7 did and all except one of the T7's accessories fitted. I settled for one of these plus the profiled leather honing kit, gouge kit and stone grader. Yes, my angel of a wife has promised to pay a cheque into my account next week.
The moral of this storey my friends is try it for yourselves, like me you may be pleasantly surprised by the result.
The only other goodies that I bought were some assorted hinges for future boxes, a cutting wheel to make a hollowing tool and last but not least an unusual hollowing tool that I watched being demonstrated by a very able guy who is in the Australian navy, now shore based and lives right here in Rockingham and is a very good friend of Chippypah (Pete) in England who told me to introduce myself to him, which I of course did.

Good day Harry

You get everything,

I really like the sharpening system,,,,,,, and all you did was ask,,,,, I never tried that approach, and just when I thought I had exhausted all the methods for getting a new tool, WHAM!, BANG, the up front "just ask" approach. Gotta love it.

Great purchase and now you will have the sharpest tools on the street. My bits are in the mail...

Have a fine day
John
