Default Other things to do

Just in case you think that I spend all of my time between my shed and the forum, here's proof that I do keep up with home maintenance.

Before Glenmore has a chance to ask, no, I didn't accidentally cut from the TOPS of the four doors!

Hi Harry

I glad to see you are in the maintenance mode The Boss ask me to enclose the patio about 12 years ago so I said yes I can do that so I did but out of the blue ,about 3 weeks ago the Boss said can you take the windows out and open up the patio,,, so I said yes I think I can do that,,,

Well I got the windows out ( 6 ea. 4' x 6' ) and took the framing down and I ask the BOSS how that ? and she said can you take up the carpet and replace it with flat stones well I said yes I can do that after getting 6 tons of 16" x 16" flat stones that are 40 lbs. each... I got that done and she said can you make the patio bigger and I said yes dear I can do that now it's 16ft x 30ft it was 12ft x 30ft and I said hows that ? and she said that's fine now can you hide the wires and I said yes I can do that dear, the wires are for the TV and the Internet (Cat 5) type so off to the shop and I got to do what I like to do best and made some channel molding on the router table about 46ft of it..
Channel molding 3/4" x 2" wide stock with a 1 1/8" wide dado slot 1/2" deep to hide the wires in.
You guess it the Boss said can you paint that and that's next on the list,, I was 6'4" about 3 weeks ago now I'm 5" 8" it did grind me done a bit...

But she now has her open patio, and she said how about the other side of the patio and I said NO dear I can't do the other end it's my enclosed computer room, we have a LONG patio about 70 ft. long my computer room is about 35ft x 40ft ( patio room)

So as you can see HARRY I have been in the maintenance mode also..

BJ, I've said it in the past and I just have to repeat it, you have a wicked sense of humour. I was about to complain that you hadn't made any projects for the forum lately but feel ashamed after reading what you HAVE been doing, even if there's a little exaggeration, I doubt that you lost more than just a couple of inches!

HI Harry

exaggeration
1. the act of exaggerating or overstating

Not to sure about that

I know you like snapshots and the Boss did take one or two with my right hand man helping me ( my youngest SON ) but it's funny to see a man that's 5'8" tall with number 12 boots...( ME )

Plus a shot of the kids picking up the tons of nails that I dropped all over the place, they had a great time helping

I forgot to say I also install two new ceiling fans on the patio and in my spare time I put in a 20ft tall Flag Pole in the back yard

Thanks Bob

I do like to please the BOSS when I can

" sleep? " it's now one of the things I do standing up now days or get a little cat nap on the new patio in one of the chairs, a 15 min. cat nap will do me for about 4 hours or so..

By the way I did take a look at your shop pictures and I can't see your chop saw, is it a new item.. ?

I'm sure you got the Apples have you put them around the shop ?

Man ever time I look at your shop, I wish my was that neat..
It makes me want to start over in my shop and pull out all the items and build some new cabinets but because I'm old and I need to recall all the items in the shop I may have a hell of a time finding anything if I do that,,,I was thinking the other day of how many things I need to keep in my head, bolts and nuts.tools boxes full of stuff, etc.
it's a wonder I can find anything in the shop anymore....I guess I should get a computer and index all the stuff

Please the Boss.... haha, I keep mine pleased all the time by just staying out of her way

I did get some apples from Ken and put them all over the shop. A few days later I went in and found a spider sleeping on one of them and ran when he seen me coming.... so much for that theroy I think I am going to try the boric acid Mike recommended and if that don't work, I may have to get serious

Now you be careful napping while standing up as you could get if you fell over, but then again I suppose those size 12's keep you pretty well balanced.

Thanks for the commnets on my shop BJ, they always make one feel good when someone else appreciates the efforts. I got rid of my chop saw and got the Nobex which is a manual miter saw and frame. I keep it on top of my hand tool shelving now. Not sure where it was in the pictures I have posted, it may be time to update them for the recent subtle changes. I am having a hard time keeping up with Harry on shop organization these days and now he is out running in front of me with all that fancy lathe work he has been showing off. Looks like I am going to have to get off my rear and get busy playing out there

Wait a minute Bj. There's something wrong. You live in Colorado, and have grass.
