Default A workbench... at last!

I have been agonizing over whether to build or buy a workbench for over a year now, so I finally made a decision to just buy a basic bench and add any bells and whistles later.
The bench is 6' x 2' with steel legs and a solid maple top. I just added the 9", quick release, vice and still have a little more work to do on it. I have had the rolling cabinet for a while. It has a solid maple top also and is made by the same company. It fits very well under the big bench saving a lot of space.

Hi George

Very nice bench, and thought out quite nicely for under table storage. I have the quick release vise on my table and it is great.

Where is the saw dust?

have a great day

That's quite a substantial bench George, you did the right thing in buying ready made because by the time this weekend is over you'll have one or more projects to show us, don't forget the camera!

Hi George,

Very nice looking bench. Sometimes, it's best to just purchase one then as time goes, you can build another which would better suit your needs.

Very Nice Bench George

It makes me recall the ones we had in wood shop ( school days )

A buddy called me about 5 years ago and said you should buy some of the old work benches they are selling off at school and I said how much, and he said 25.oo dollars each and the legs are 10.oo each pair and I said I'm on the way are you going to buy some also and he said you bet..so I got 10 of them and he got 3 ....some with a old wooden vise and some not..
He still has his

Man I made a killing on them when I sold them off ,now I wish I kept one or 2 now...

JUst a note Grizzly sells the tops and the legs but they are not cheap once you add the freight in..
