  About Me

  • My Shop
Some detailed information about my workshop.
    Power Tools
2- PC 690's and numerous gizmos to go along with those. I've added a Husky 33 Gallon / 150 PSI air compressor. I also have a PC Random Orbit Sander, 3- nailguns, 2- staplers and various other pneumatic tools. Hitachi Floor Model Table Saw C10FL (best table saw I've ever used). Hitachi Scroll Saw CW40 and 1- Hitachi 14V cordless drills DS14DVF3. Makita LS1013 Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Makita Drill (corded) 3/8" and Makita 9910 Belt Sander and Makita circular saw. Ryobi DP10 Benchtop Drill Press, DeWalt 20V Drill/Driver Combo Kit and another identical 20V Drill + numerous extra LI Batteries, DeWalt 304 (corded) Reciprocating Saw, Delta Thin-Line Grinder, Skil Circular Saw and Skil Jig Saw, B&D 1/4 sheet pad sander. Numerous other grinders, polishers and vises have been added. I inherited a Harbor Freight benchtop sanding machine with 6" belts and 6" discs.
    My Shop
My shop is in my basement and is used to build prototypes of inventions for me and several others. There are numerous 110V outlets 4- feet apart just above workbench height. There are 3- built-in workbenches, a 16- foot and 2- 6- footers. All workbenches are very sturdy with (replaceable) 3/4" plywood caps & numerous vises at strategic locations. There is considerable shelving shop-made with stair tread horizontal members. All shelves are attached to floor joists overhead and none take-up any floor space. The shop area is 3- rooms, one is 16 x 14, one is 22 x 16 and a lumber storage area is 10 x 14. Fluorescent lighting is placed in many locations and centrally switch controlled.

    A few details about myself.
Now semi-retired, I am working on quite a few projects of great variety. I love learning new and helpful things. I am intrigued with how much one can learn from one project and then apply that information to something else. I am a guy who has had a variety of full-time occupations and have always applied myself to whatever I was employed doing. "Anything worth doing is worth doing well" has been taught to me since I was a youngster. Many people try to "play with the cards they are dealt", but I try to "win with the cards I am dealt". I am very fortunate in that I own two companies 100% and run another company (FMC) as the technical strategist and director of product development. FMC is Forrester Manufacturing Company and is located in Buford, Georgia. FMC is built around the manufacture and sales of Pocket Form Isolator, which is a product line of over 4,800 products - all of which I am the sole inventor. HSP Transmission Components is another company that own 100%. It is a very high-tech machine shop, building products of my own design. Our building is 73 miles from my home, and my communication with the people there is done via phone and email. My other business is Tendril Consulting - it is run from my home, we teach company managers how to run their business at maximum efficiency using tried and true methods. It is fun!
    Auburn, Georgia
I have several hobbies. My oldest hobby is my reptile collection, 21 snakes & 4 lizards. I've had two full-time jobs working with reptiles in my late teens and early twenties. I love wood-working and have built quite a few projects. I've had one full-time job doing wood-working. In my late twenties, I got involved in construction work, then structural engineering, then manufacturing. Currently, I do computer solid modeling and have invented numerous items.
    Favorite Router
I've only used a few different brands. Makita, Milwaukee & DeWalt are brands that I've used, but I only own 2- PC 690's. Both are fixed/plunge switcharoos. I've never had a problem with these and have noticed they are easy to find accessories for.
