No problem.... I just wanted to be sure Mark saw the ones already posted since it appeared he was seeking requests and did not mention the others.

Thanks Mark!

Exclamation Thread Suggestion URL Library
Report Post Report This Post!

Mark,
Having been on this forum for a month or so I've come to realize just how many links to various websites get posted here! Some are videos, some are just woodworking stores, books etc, but they all are a wealth of Information and Inspiration as are the posts and replies on this Forum. My suggestion for a forum subtitle is:
Routerforums .com Where Inspiration and Information are Free.
But that's an aside to this suggestion:
Since it's hard to remember and locate all the urls posted here.
I just read the monthly newletter where a similar list is available but, why not have a separate Sticky for all URLs posted on this site, (the poster should choose which category is the best fit, and post them, so as not to make any additional work for the site administrator!) They could be organized by categories for easier access such as:
Instructional URLs for:
Videos- dovetail jigs, for router bits, Jigs and set-ups, router tables etc.
Favoite places to buy:
Router bits, routers, tables, etc.
Plans and diagrams for:
1. tech stuff like router tables, cabinets for router tables, on-off switches,
2. other stuff like furniture, boxes, etc. made specifically with routers

In other words a working library of URLs specific to routers and their use. Of course all the necessary restrictions for members only with at least 10 posts etc.
Maybe post a survey to see if there is any interest.
Thanks for ALL you do here, Bill

Thumbs up New Project!
Report Post Report This Post!

New Project! from Mark, Forum Administer: "I'm currently in the works of developing a new addition to RouterForums.com it's going to be a new site on the same topic of Woodworking, it won't be a forum, it's going to be a huge information resource for all woodworkers. I don't really have many more details on it now, but I expect the development to be finished by the end of Feb, 209 and to be launched mid-March '09. As updates come, I'll update this thread! "

What could it possibly be! Sounds Great! bill

Mark, I am a new guy here but somewhat familiar with forums. I think your idea about the "Interesting Thread" and making the topic sticky is a GREAT idea. On a forum this large and complex keeping up with everything just about impossible, but you don't want to miss the really good stuff. Trust the members to pick out the good stuff and it will work great.

i dont know if it is wanted but i would like to see a thread on router buddies. this would be a place ppl. could sign up to find ppl. in their local area that would be willing to help others & maybe meet & greet at some point if agreed upon. it could be divided into
countries, provinces (or states) then cities. i think something like this would be invaluable for newbies in routing & new members to the forum. if if was voluntary then ppl.would not feel they had to do it.

What I was thinking is, sticking this thread and whenever one of you guys finds a thread you think is interesting or has some great information in, simply post a link to it here and I'll include those suggested threads in the next newsletter!

What do you guys think?

Thanks!
