Oh Dear Lord and Sweet Cheezits! Not sex and politics! Right here amongst the sawdust and dull router bits! Lol.

Sorry, I had to wax sarcastic there for a minute. But seriously, Trap I do understand your concerns. The way you brought it up though truly tickled the crap out of me. Sorry, is crap too harsh a word? Lol.

Sincerely

Hey Mark how's it coming. Trap don't you worry I just brought this subject up so we can talk some wood and routering. We all are friends here. So I figured I'd bring the subject up so every one that pm's to get to know one and other a lot better. That's all after all we aren't a sex, drugs, and rock and roll forum. I figured it would be safe to ask for a chat room.

Mark is an unknown quantity at this point

Well, a while back I looked into the idea, and the only available medium that I could add to the forums would be an IRC (internet relay chat) and they are difficult to setup and I'm not completely sure that it will be used enough to be beneificial. I'm still on the look out for something else.

Jigger, since it is so difficult to set up a working chat room on the forums, Rick Rosendahl got us started using Skype. Skype is a world wide program similar to Yahoo. It is a free download. With Skype you can chat in a text message, video or as most of us do voice chat. You need a mic and speakers or a boom headset which costs around $6 to voice chat. You can add your telephone for a very reasonable amount yearly which a couple people have done. (I have not) One of the additional nice features of Skype is an add on called a white board. With this you can sketch a drawing that appears on all monitors involved in the chat. If you install Skype on your computer you can find me by searching for: aniceone2hold
I will help you learn how to use Skype and give you the list of contacts currently using Skype.

I prefer a traditional chat message style myself. Anyone can set up a free chat room and get there with a link. It may not be embedded into the website but neither is Skype.

I'm not too hot on chat rooms, but if most of you want one it's ok with me. I'm just afraid all the good advice will only be seen in the chat room instead of the threads.

Corey, you can chat in a window with Skype. We sometimes do this if one of us is having troubles with their connection. (Usually me)
Gary, the chats are often on different subjects with a good amount of joking. Anything of interest is always posted on the forums. At times it is easier to convey ideas with speech or by sketching on the white board as opposed to typed words. The teasing is all in good fun and would not be the same if it was written instead of spoken. I encourage members to give it a try. Its free, what have you got to lose?
