I prefer the S.C (Spirtually Correct) way = "MERRY CHRISTMAS".
Some prefer the P.C. (Politically Correct) = "HAPPY HOLIDAYS".
So, why not use both. "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays".
Therefore, I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year!

It is a solid Merry Christmas for me, always has been and always will be. By the way.... What ever happened to the phrase "Seasons Greetings"? I guess most on here are too young to remember that one

Depends on the person I'm saying it to. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings.

That sounds like a very sensible solution to me Dave.

As a Christian I wish to give offence to no man. In ancient time sheperds kept sheep in a field at night only during the fall so Christ was probably born in the fall (fertilizer on field after harvest and to cold in winter) We are actually following ancient soltice celebrations If you wish to esteem a day as the Lord's day you do well and if you esteem everyday as the Lord's you do well.

I embrace all greetings so I guess I vote: doesn't make a differnce

As I read this thread, I come to realize that "Merry Christmas" is more traditional than "Happy Christmas", but it does not really matter.

The most important word in the greeting is "Christmas" - this is the reason we are celebrating the holiday (holy day).

Saying "Happy Holiday" is saying no more than "enjoy the vacation"...without the reason for the 'vacation'..
