from a Humanist point of view, I find nothing offensive in people enjoying a festive occasion of their culture. If I were in a predominantly Jewish culture, I'd be sure to enjoy the festivities of Hanukkah and similarly with other cultures.

In Canada we embrace all cultures and thus no offence would be considered were one to wish a compatriot "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Honukkah" or even "Happy Ramadan?" So long as you are respectful of others, there is no reason one cannot extend best wishes to another - no matter the occasion.

Ron

I'm confused; the poll says it's closed(?). If you need more votes, considering how many new members there are, maybe reopen it?
Personally, 'Allthumbs' pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject.
Seems that sending some one good wishes beats ignoring them...

Hey Dan, yeah we put a time limit on the poll.

To everyone else:

I feel that we have accumulated enough opinions on this in order to take a firm stance on it. From now forward we will acknowledge "Merry Christmas" as the holiday greeting as that is what the majority of the community prefers. With that said, I ask that everyone be respectful of everyone's opinion and if they prefer "Happy Holidays" or any other variation, please respect that and do not press the issue.

Thank you everyone who contributed to this poll. As always, if you have any questions for me, feel free to PM me or contact me here: http://www.routerforums.com/sendmessage.php
