| Registered User Forum King | Mark, I guess this one's for you. I keep being logged off the site when viewing (happened twice today). I log on, read the posts but when I go to post a reply I find I've been logged off. Is there a timing-out feature or is it at my end?

| Forum Administrator Supreme Forum King | It can be one of two issues, did you select the check box beside the login button before you login? That checkbox represents a "remember my login" it will save your information in a safe encrypted form into a cookie which is stored in your local files on your computer. This should permit you to leave and come back to the website and always remain logged in. If that isn't the issue, it could be a simple cookie related setting with your browser. Can you quickly investigate your cookie settings then report back to me. Also, just curious what is your current browser and browser version?

| Registered User Forum King | Mark, I've checked the box next to the login. My cookes are set to "Accept all cookies". My browser is set to Google but I'm not sure of the version other than it shows copyright 2006. The other browser options are Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

| Forum Administrator Supreme Forum King | I would highly suggest you use: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ as your browser. It is the best, fastest and safest available.

| Registered User Forum King | Thanks Mark, I'll give Mozilla a try. BTW, was the site off the air about an hour ago? (I guess around mid afternoon where you are). I tried to connect but got the 'page unavailable'.

| Forum Administrator Supreme Forum King | I don't think so.... I could check the error logs. Possibly it was a hickup in your connection?

| Registered User Member | I have the same exact issues as described in the original question above and I am using the Mozilla browser ! Mark , we are not leaving this site and coming back , we are reading the forums and then when trying to respond , we have been logged out some how .... Also , when I do want to log out , it goes to a page that says I am logged out and that all cookies have been cleared , yet never escapes this site. So then I hit the log out button again and it states that an error has ocurred in logging me out...so then I have to click on another button to actually log out.....help ??? | Forum Administrator Supreme Forum King | I'm not exactly sure why it logs you out constantly, I'm going to read into the workings of my vBSEO script and see if that is causing any issues. As far as your other issue, when you click "log out" it will direct you to a page stating "all cookies cleared". I understand you'll still appear as logged it, because you were directed to that page with your cookies already saved, therefore they aren't fully cleared until you escape that page. Simply click the provided link "return to index" and you will be fully logged out. In my opinion, it is a coding mishap on vBulletin's side (our forum software). ![]()

| Forum Administrator Supreme Forum King | I have no idea what could be causing this, I have tested this in MSIE, FireFox and on a wide range of operating systems. On all the computers that I tested, nothing like described above has happened. This is an issue that I really have no idea how to fix, I have review the code many times and there are absolutely no errors in sight. So I have come to a conclusion. In my opinion the only possible cause of these problems are a cookie or browse issue on the user side. If you're experiencing some of the issues described above, please check through your cookie / security and overall browser settings.
