Jeff, there is a wood turning section on this forum, I'm sure that you could find some answers there.

For more in depth stuff, you could always try http://www.woodturningonline.com/welcome.html

Take it easy,

Hi Jeff

Or the Lobby

The place to chat about whatever suits your fancy. This could be the electric dog polisher you just bought, the weather, anything goes (within the limits of good taste).

Cool

Jeff, if you look to the right, below the quick reply box where you type in your responce, you will see a box that says "Forum Jump". Click on this box and it will show you all the places you can post. We have a woodturning and lathe thread. One for scrollsawing, etc. And like Bj said, you can always post in the "lobby". Thanks for the suggestion tho, we like questions and suggestions.

It's wasn't a bad idea but understand Mark tries to make forums available that will have a fair amount of traffic or posting in it or it just takes up space. Usually that subject is handled under Tools & Woodworking or the Lobby and the subject doesn't generate enough conversation around here all by itself... usually in context to a post on a completed project etc.

Jeff, your idea is a good one but very difficult to implement. Remember our members are scattered around the world. No matter how often I ask, people never list their home state/provence on their profile. As far as pricing goes, there is the Bargain Bin in the General Woodworking section. If you find a great deal post it there. As far as asking about where to buy wood you can submit it in the general woodworking section and hopefully a member from your area will respond. Try and locate any woodworking groups in your area, its the quickest way to make new friends and find great prices.
