The tip rotator on the homepage is now fixed, they cycle randomly now. If you want to add your tip to the list, simply post in this thread and I'll add it. An example of a good tip is "Always use safety glasses - Mark" So basically type your tip in quotations and add your RouterForums.com username at the end so we can give you credit for your tip. Thanks guys ![]()

Always use a push block or push stick. Never put your hand or push block over the bit. Always check the bit for clearance in the fence before you turn the switch on. Always put on your safety glasses before you turn the switch on. Keep the saw dust/chips picked up around the router table. Don't leave other tools/jigs on the router table when it's running. Don't take your router bits apart on top of the router table take them to a vise/workbech. Don't have any mates around you when the router is running ask them to please stand back or take a chair... Don't use any drop cord longer than 25ft. to get power to the router. Always use a grounded type power cord on your hand router/router table. Always have adequate light when you run the router... Never use saw horses for a router table base unless you clamp/screwed the table top down to them... Always check the power cord for the router ,if it's cracked replace it. Blow the router out from time to time to keep the router dust out of the switch and the motor... Always use your Vac.system to suck up as much of the router dust and the chips as you can.. Always check the nuts or screws on new bits b/4 you use them for the 1st.time..they don't always get them tight at the Mfg. ==========
