Both are great forums and websites but I just realized they were connected...
I didn't realize routerforums.com was part of lumberjocks.com

I wasn't aware of that fact either. Would be great to have an easy link to jump back and forth with one login.

Great source of revenue, and i hope the vendor reps become good contributors as well. To that end, though it could be difficult to police, i'd have no problem with them being able to participate in the other forum sections so long as the product promotion is kept to the vendor section. On another forum i follow, Eric Loza from MiniMax (excellent band saw knowledge) and Tom Walz of Carbide Processors (knows cutting tools and carbide behavior like a guru) both are regulars in discussions, and i've seen both ask questions related to their own woodworking. Certainly both of them reference their own products where applicable, but they do an excellent job of "referencing" instead of selling.

Our Moderation Team reads daily, so even the policing may not be all that bad. We might get lucky and find a few highly skilled contributors (not that we need more experts!!)

Just a thought.

Great find Greg! I was originally in lumberjocks and wondered how I ended up in routerforums. Now I see the connection. Of course, when one surfs the internet they pop all over the place anyway, at least I do.

Cheers!!!

Well, we definitely would want to have all:
router manufacturers
router bit manufacturers
router accessory manufacturers (guides, fences, lifts, jigs, etc.)
router table manufacturers
router woodworking publishers.
woodworking tool manufacturers
woodworking tool suppliers
lumber mills

These are just a suggestion for starters.

We used to have an active member who worked for Freud. He was an invaluable source for information.

"Teach your children what we have taught ours, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. The earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children."
-attributed to Chief Seattle of the Native American Suquamish Tribe
  • Wood working, especially router work is too much fun to let "disabilities" get in the way.

I believe this is great way to enhance and support users. I applaud everyone who may have had involvement in this decision.

VerticalScope owns a lot of forums.

Those that are primarily woodworking related are...
  • Router Forums
  • LumberJocks
  • Woodworking Talk
I currently manage 15 sites or so for the company so you will see me on all of those.
