| Registered User Forum Fanatic | We wanted an entryway arbor & my wife insisted that lattice was a no, no. It had to be "different". I used spruce from the local building supply outlet. Basically, 1 x 4 x 6ft. boards laminated with waterproof glue up to the thickness that I needed. I took this approach to eliminated splitting & chunks falling off from weathering. Pretty much a bandsaw project with some lathe work.Five coats of exterior acrylic latex & while it has gone through 3 winters it is still in good shape. I'm a kitchen table designer so there are no plans for this fun project. Thanks for looking. Lee |
