Default Thanks all for the help

In order to place the cottage it was necessary to take down a big beautiful red pine which was cut to ten foot lengths and delivered to a local ma and pa sawmill. Being a relative rookie at this, I would like to thank all the folks who guided me through to the finished project, this is one great forum.

Jer.

Nice Job jer760

Looks great,,, how about a snapshot of the under side that tells all..
Plus how you hooked the legs to the top and the aprons and what you used to finish it with..

again nice job

Plus I would like to see a shot of your dust box on your drill press..PLS.

Well, you may recall the conversation we had regarding the Kreg pockethole system, imho, this is a must have tool in any shop. That's the way this entire table was joined with the exception of the table top, I used a double row of biscuits there. Had a problem with the top warping in one corner ( your solution solved this ), damn, come to think of it, you had a lot to do with this project, might as well put your name on it too. I used a product called Old Masters acrylic polyurethane with a synthetic brush after researching which finish could best take the abuse a dining table can expect ( including boogers ) hehe. As for the drill press vacuum plate, I'm still using the prototype as per your instructions because I've had no reason to change it, what it doesn't pick up immediately, a quick swipe with my hand and it's gone.

That's a beautiful table Jer. It's always a shame to take down a big tree, but you sure put it to good use.

Thanks much for the kind words fellas, next up is going through whats left of that big old tree and hopefully, matching coffee table and end tables. Chairs are a little out of my loop for now so I picked up some unfinished chairs at a local retailer that will be finished in a forest green. Cheers.
