Default Rush job!

I had to put the cutlery canteen I have been building on hold this weekend as I was asked by a friend to make a cross for his brother who has died recently. I bought the Oak on Friday and have spent all weekend working on it. It is now ready for the finish which will be Oil.

Excellent work Mailee,

While I do understand their sentiments, I don't quite share the views of BJ and Hamlin in this case. Death is a natural part of life which visits us all sooner or later. My personal view is what a wonderful way to mark a person's final resting place, with a natural product hand made as we all were by the Creator.

I do totally agree with BJ and Hamlin that it's a sad time, death, and I'm sure we've all experienced that sadnes at some time or another. I suspect that's where BJ's and Hamlin's thoughts are coming from.

Sorry to hear of your friend's loss of his brother.

Ed......:-)

I finished the cross today after adding an angled base for the brass plate. I gave it three coats of Teak oil.
It will take the journey to the grave in London tomorrow for it's final resting place.
