Hi Jerry! If you are talking about only inside and outside corners, i would think that a template would do the trick. First, i would make a 1/4 in. hardboard template and the collar would ride the template edge. You can make one for the inside, and the outside.
It would insure that all 4 corners would be the same

thanks, good suggestion.
I'm making a combing box for the cockpit of my sailboat, and the outside frame is like a rectangular picture frame with rounded corners. I'm a newbie here and wasn't sure if members would be familiar with a combing box. i'm also a newbie to table routing. thanks for the help.

Gerry, hurry and get 10 posts in so that you can post a drawing, complete with measurements after which I promise that complete answers will be forthcoming.

The best advice that I can give a newcomer to routing is, learn to use the router mounted, this can be as simple as a board held in a vice, with the router firmly attached and a simple fence held with clamps, and when he/she feels competant and confident in it's use and is familiar with all aspects of safety, THEN, and only then proceed to learn how to use the router hand held. This is MY opinion, and may or may not coincide with that of the forum management, but is based on a lifetime of woodworking.
