Default router table jointing

I will have my M12V router in a few days, and already own a Eagle Brand table & fence...can someone tell me what I need to do as set up to use the router as a edge jointer?...my fence is split, but what type bit and set up do I need to do in order to get accurate joint lines...don't have room for a stationery jointer, and hear a lot about the router as a jointer...tks in advance..Dennis

I am by no means an expert, but I use a flush trim or straight bit for this purpose. Just shim the outfeed fence a little and align the bit (isolate the bearing) with the outfeed fence.

You want the bit exactly in line with the outfeed ,isolating the bearing doesn't come into play in this operation.
