Anyone that has purchased the Oak Park Router Table...I would be glad to get your input it.

Beginner needing advice

I am in a dilemma as I started out thinking for sure I would buy the Oak Park Router Table Kit but have since wondered if I shouldn't get the Bench Dog Pro Max table saw extension or the Jessem table/plate/fence and build my own stand.

What would you choice be?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I too, have the Oak Park table. With the accessories, I think you'll agree with those of us who do own one, it's a very good table.

I have a Benchdop ProTop Contractor. I like the table but it does have it's limitations. I think alot of people go very sophisticated on router table set ups with lifts etc. I wish I had gone the Oak Park route myself. It is very simple construction. If you will be using the Oak Park accessories it makes sence to me to go the Oak Park route in my opinion.

I have an Oak Park table, made the whole thing myself and the accessories as well as the router baseplates.
It works great. Simplicity is the word and whoever designed it is a genius

Hi Allison: I have the Oak Park router table, and the raised panel, and Miter gauge accessories. I have had other router tables as well as a heavy duty cabinet shaper.
I would go for the Oak Park, it's simple and straight forward.

I also have the oak park router table with the dust system you can get with it And all the fence's also Wouldn't be with out it I built a base for it also I have other router tables but go back to the oak park Also the brass bars are very good for set bit set up Just my nickel's worth It's better than 2 cents I like change

It’s hard recommending tables. After using a commercial built table
I decided to build my own.
You have to take several things into consideration. Also the height and the size of the top that will be most comfortable to work for you. Will you be needing a miter track or not and if so how close to the plate. If you will be using the table for small to medium projects than small footprint is ok but if you start large project then that will not cut it. Imbedded T-Tracks on some commercial tables will catch the edge of your work piece and jam your work against the bit.
Another good thing a bout custom built table is you can buy the best components from different places and incorporate it in your table.
