| Registered User Dedicated Member | The Oak Park table comes with a white plastic plate that "the boys" use to cover one of the two vacuum ports on their table. This plate has two 1 inch slots near one end and two "T" shaped slots on the opposite end and running vertically. What are these for? Bruce in the Peg

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi Bruce It's made so you can attach the part to the fence or to the top of your router table. But you will see Bob & Rick just side it into place and it should say in place so to speak. Because they switch fences all the time. It's made to redirect the chips down the port and not let them take off to the right side of the table top. Bj ![]() Bj ![]()

| Registered User Dedicated Member | Seems perfectly clear to me now. Thanks a bunch of hardwood. ![]() BTW, I just noticed that the fence covers the 12:00 hole. Should the fence generally be offset to leave the hole open? BB

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi Bruce Yes , I would put a slot or two on the bottom side so you can use where you want it to. Bj ![]()

| Registered User Dedicated Member | BJ, Do you have any thoughts on how deep those slots should be? Can I mill the plastic fence with the router or will the high speed melt it?

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi Bruce If it's Oak-Park fence it should mill fine and should not melt, I would cut them 1/2" to 5/8" deep ![]() But you can always use the band saw/Radio Arm saw/Table saw or a hand scroll saw to cut the slots. Most of the chips that get sucked out will be small but you will from time to time get long ones that you will need to power down and pull out. Bj ![]()
