Default Using brass setup bars

How, exactly, are setup bars used to isolate the bearing?
Bob does it too fast to see clearly.

Bruce,
The way he uses the setup bars (or any other straight edge) to isolate the bearing is pretty straightforward. All you are doing is making the bearing flush with the infeed and outfeed sides of the fence. If you're touching all 3 at the same time, you've isolated the bearing.

Bob, what on earth does it help to practice isolating the bearinf after the fence has been removed?
See the very last paragraph on either of the links.

Hi Bruce

I think he is sayiing to put the fence back and do it again and again just for practice,if you don't remove the fence you can't go back and do it over from sq. 1.
