Default My router table (progress)

Here is my work in progress router table. She still needs door and drawer fronts. I was thinking maple and blck mica to match the rest. The top is 2 layers of 3/4 baltic birch laminated together and then formica laminated to the top. Seems to be flat as a board...hehehehehe.

Hoping to get it done soon but I need to focus on getting this basement project done.

Not sure I'm crazy with the insert. Router is mouted directly to the table and not a plate. I can already see issues with this route. It's hard to get that little bugger level and not tip where there are no screws. I mouted some hidden screws under the plate as well but it's a bear to get them all level and the plate be perfect with the top...BTW..The extra hole is to use the bosch above table handle to adjust height etc

Anyway, let me now what you think of my first attempt at a router table

Joe

Looks GREAT to me.
I take it - other than your issue with the insert you are happy with your decision to forego using a mounting plate?
Asking because that is the way I am leaning with one I am planning.
How much thickness did you leave where the router was mounted?

I'll have to go measure. It's the same or thicker than a standard router plate..Maybe a bit more. I did make sure to put the center support under the table as close to the router as I could

Hey Joe!!

That's looking pretty good!

Not sure if you're going to like the router mounted directly to top though...
... hope it works for you.

Sure is pretty!!

You're doing good!!

Thanks for sharing...

Thanks all. It's pretty simple pulling the router out of the mouted base. I have been looking at one of the woodpecker lifts..Pretty slick. I think I may wait till I get a 3 hp router in there before I change it out.

OK..Any suggestions on the drawer fronts and door..Color..Wood type. I was thinking Maple like theface frames..With a mica panel (black)
