| Registered User Forum Fanatic | I am trying to find a replacement router plate for a used table I bought. The plate should be 11 1/2" x 14 1/2" x 3/8". I have looked on ebay and googled "router plate" and cannot find one this size. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could find a plate this size or where I could find the materials to make one. thanks |

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi BlueGoose You may need to make one,, it's a odd size ![]() The best spot to find the stock you will need is eBay because you only need a small plate. You don't want to buy the farm, you just want a glass of milk, a 4' x 8' or a 2' x 4' of 3/8" thick plastic, is like buying the farm, think cutting board (poly. type) you can always cut it down to the size you need.. ![]() The hard part is the 3/8" thick type you need...you may want to get 1/4" thick and use some 1/8" spacers to get it right for your table...(hardboard or MDF would work well for that job) Or get one that's 1/2" thick and just route the hole just a bit deeper so it can take the 1/2" one... Ploy. machines very well and it can all be done with a router... ![]() http://cgi.ebay.com/Board-Cutting-Po...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Poly-Cutting-Boa...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/5-BRAND-NEW-POLY...QQcmdZViewItem The easy way would be cut it to size then just rabbit the edges so it drops right in your hole for the router plate with a small lip to hold it in place.. ==========

| Registered User Forum Fanatic | Thanks for the replies guys. I went to the local WalMart and bought a cutting board. It was a hair over 3/8" thick and fit perfect after I cut it to size. Seemed to be very stiff and works fine but I don't know how long it will take before it starts sagging (if it does at all). Right now I am very happy with it. thanks again |
