Fellow woodworkers,
Replaced my Craftmans bench with this, a clean top. Used the start stop switch from old table. Bench top just slides over router top. Hinged it and used the Red Green fix to make the dust collection system on the Craftman router work.

VERY nice -
I especially like the 'double duty' top.

Great Job Trap - and as DC said - even better when you can double up on the top

Fellow woodworkers
I have five routers The one I dislike the most is the DW8182, with two bases.
The one I like best is the model 320,17542, fixed base.
I have the 215,17341 set up for one thing, making mortises, with a jig design given to me by bob3j.
OK,, why do I like the 320.17542 ? it only draws 11 amps and has a peak hp of 2. Thats plenty for the work I do. It is easy to adjust. As you can see by the photo, I can raise the table top and all of the controls are there. course adjustment and fine adjustment. It is light and will not sage the top. You need only one wrench, as it has a spindle lock. It also has a speed control from 1 to 6. some where on this site they have a speed control chart.
It is a shame that the most expensive router is the least liked, and the cheapest is my favorite. It seems as I have the same problem in trapshooting, the expensive gun will not let me hit the side of a barn, the BT-99 (34 inch barrel) smokes target with 1 oz of shot.
I also have a Hitachi M 12VC, still just setting in the box.
