| Registered User Forum Geek | I just received my Incra Lite system and now I have determined that I need a router table to place in on. Eventually I make actually make a box. Any opinons on buying an already made table from Rockler, like the one shown for 159.00? I don't have a lot of time and I never have been able to get the router plates to fit as nicely as I would like. Feedback highly welcome. Thanks Steve Bolton |

| Retired Moderator Supreme Forum King | I wouldn't hesitate to buy that as it sounds like the size your really want. The plate will fit perfect.. just have to build a cabinet which is easy as heck. You can build about any style of cabinet you like. The Oak Park style of cabinet is simple and easy. Corey

| Registered User Forum Geek | Have come to the profound conclusion - that the only valid reason to build your own table is --- I want to. pleasure of the work -- pride of workmanship -- have something there isn't another like -- etc. I say this as I near the end of builidng my own. You clearly won't save time - and especially if you count your time of value -- you won't save money either. Saving money was one of the ideas in the back of my head --but by the time I kept adding ideas --- ----- --- I've invested about $50 in materials -- just to find Rockler putting a table on clearance that would have been almost perfect for my needs -- for --- you guessed it --- $50. I'm not sorry about my decision -- I did enjoy the building - and I do like having something unique. BUT -- if I had it to do over -- knowing what I know now --- ---- I think I would have bought at LEAST the top and fence. And Rockler is - in my experience - a very good source. I think you are making a wise choice. Last edited by Drugstore Cowboy; 08-21-2007 at 08:47 PM. |

| Senior Moderator Supreme Forum King | There is not a thing wrong with the Rockler table top. The clearance table for $50 is an exceptional value. Building your own table is not difficult, installing the mounting plate can be tricky. My first table was very nice, built from the plans in ShopNotes #1. I installed a Rousseau mounting plate using their installation template and mounting kit and it was flawless and problem free. A friend came by as I was wiping on the polyshades finish for the red oak trim and bought it on the spot, back to square one. It's hard to say no to a nice profit but at times I wish I had kept that first table. It marked the begining of my routing in earnest, a true "benchmark".(pun intended)

| Registered User Forum Geek | This one dos'nt come with a fence, but you've got that covered with the Incra. And I believe the Rousseau plate is slightly larger than the Rockler. Which would allow the router to be lifted out easier. http://www.infinitytools.com/prodinf...mber=RTT%2DIP2
