Just my 2 cents

Why not have the best of both worlds ..

If you mount your router to a 11" sq, base plate it can be used in both ways,
quick and easy when you need to use the hand router you would just lift it out of the router table and go to work and the same thing if you need to use the router table ,just drop it back in the router table and you are set to go work and you only need to own one router for the shop...

You can leave the router hanging in the router table or just pop it out and put it under the work bench....then your router table becomes a work bench or a bench for other drop in tools...for a jig saw, table top band saw, grinder, etc. one work bench for all for the small shop...

The Oak-Park base plate is one of the best you can get and it will come with holes to hold the brass guides if you want to used them...
