| Registered User New Member | No, the fence was not on the wrong side of the bit, and of course direction of feed was correct. I had made the across grain pass and was half way into the with grain pass when the motor, with the bit still in the chuck dropped down into the table (out of the base) and then all (&*^%&%$) broke loose. It would appear that the base cracked and let go of the motor. Hard to tell now. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am pretty anal retentive when it comes to being safe and double checking everything, as I did on this occassion. All in all, I think it could have been much worse. The router went away from me, and not toward me. |

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi Kward I'm glad you are OK ![]() But if I was the PC tech looking the base I would say user error,, forgot to clamp it down tight,,,It looks like a PC 600 type, that screw into the base...on a pin or two. But the base can crack ![]() But that's just my 2 cents ![]() BUT aging I'm glad your OK.... ==============

| Forum Moderator Supreme Forum King | Wow glad you are okay. Always a good idea to take the bases out of table and do inspections on them to check for hair line cracks especially where they tighten at. Just amazing how your poly carbon plate cracked never saw one of that thickness.
