All of my tables -- two I bought and one I built have been like that. And for many years it didnt bother me -- but as I get older and lazier. . . . Quote:
You want baseplates that are 'permanently' attached that you can then attach your router to (with base attached) with a single twist. Unfortunately --- I don't think I have ever seen such a creature - If I understand right what you are looking for -- I'm afraid you are going to have to create it. As for alternatives --- My vote goes with those who suggested -- just get two bases. Mount them. Then just slide your router in and out. The round plate BJ suggested sounds like a good idea too -- not sure it would work on your vertical mount. But if it would -- then you have the side benefit of never having to remove anything -- as it could be left on for handheld work.

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi archangel The only router I know about that comes out with a 1/4 turn is the Bosch Colt.. It sides in just a bit and then with a 1/4 turn it locks in the base mount It's a 1HP router but with tons of power for a small router,, 1/4" shaft size bits only.. I have one mounted in a router table because it has the power to do many jobs.. ![]() http://www.routerforums.com/jigs-fix...ter-table.html ========== ==========

| Registered User Jr. Member | "I just wanted to twist the router 1/4 turn to pull it off the bottom, then twist it 1/4 turn to remount it on the back." This is exactly what the turnlock base does that was mentioned a couple times above. The Veritas one that is held by magnets operates differently, but provides the same sort of function. |
