Default Bench Dog Advice needed

Greetings, everyone.

I need a little advice from the experts here. I visited my local Woodcraft store yesterday specifically to shop router tables. I was set to buy the Kreg benchtop table which I really like but right next to it was a Bench Dog full size table they were closing out.

Details:
Pro Fence with the cantilever clamps, 32" MDF table, two insert plates, (phenolic and clear acrylic) and metal stand (not Bench Dog but solid as a rock): $315.

Their explanation was the Rockler had purchased Bench Dog so out goes all the Bench Dog stuff. I put it on hold and checked with my local Rockler store to make sure Bench Dog would still be around. That answer was affirmative so I have no qualms about availability of parts or accessories.

Two issues: The off-size insert plate and the lack of reducing rings for the insert. As mentioned here in the forums I can always increase the insert size and use a Rockler large plate which would cure both problems. Since the Bench Dog plate is pre-drilled for many routers I may end up modifying the table sooner if there is not a suitable place to cleanly drill for the above-the-table height adjustment for my Milwaukee router (5616).

Good deal? Worth buying? I'm not planning on replacing this for a long, long time. This table looks well-built and I really like the fence.

Thanks in advance for your help, and for these forums where I have learned so much.

Randy

Pro Fence is the second best fence you can buy. The first being Kreg precision router fence only because it uses the table saw T- type principle.
In all fairness, I can’t give you any advice on any router table. I’m very anti ready-made tables.
