3 or 4 years ago Lowes offered a floor standing router table for around $150. I wanted to buy one then but it's one of those things like you have to spend your money on food or utility bills. Now they no longer have them.
Anyone know who made it and if it's available somewhere?

Don't recall the brand name. It was made of some type of poly and was a floor standing table. These table mounts do not impress me (small) and the floor standers are to costly. I only dabble in routing so I don't want to make a large investment. The Lowes table was impressive for the cost. Hoping maybe someone had bought one.

I think it was a Bosch, they had a small unit that was basically a bench unit on a stand. It looked kind of like this one, if I remember.

I don't think lowe's sells the unit together any more, but I think you can still buy the stand and router table separately.

That being said....

If you want a good compromise between size, cost, and space, get yourself an Oak-Park top and baseplate.

http://us.oak-park.com/catalogue.htm...--&product=620

You can start just using this top screwed to a pair of sawhorses, or mount it on an old black and decker workmate stand, until you get the feel for what will work best for you for a router table. Experiment with height, etc, until you have a comfortable unit. Then you can finalize your perfect router table. No better project to practice on than shop fixtures.

Good luck,

I agree with KP91 - the one by oak-park is on sale now. I do not think you could do better for a small router table and the base would be a snap to build with very little cost.
