Default suggestions please

I would like to see what yall would recomend for a router and router table. I teach a building Trades class and am going to try to learn the art of raised panel doors. I have already purchased the Freud 3 piece ogee raised panel bit set.I know thats like putting the horse before the cart, But I have never been known to do the things exactly right.I think from what I have read is a 3 1/2 hp variable speed router and not really sure about the router table. The raised panel bit I have is 3 1/2", so it will need to handle that size.
Thanks in advance
Dick

HI Dick

I would suggest you get a Freud 3 1/2 HP router because you have the Freud bits now then because of your back ground I would suggest you make your own router table cabinet and get the best top you can find with a big opening for the router and the bit(s) but you can change the bits from the top side of the router table...and a real plus it's flat and can take on the big routers...

3 1/2" panel bits are big and pushing the max hole size for most router plates but the one below will take on that job easy and give you just a little bit more room than the norm.
It's a bit higher in price than the norm but this best always is..

They do put the item below on sale from time to time, I got one for 250.oo bucks ,complete and two other members did also.

They also sale the OffSet wrench but I didn't find the link for it on the ptreee web site, but you want to get one for sure..

HI Dick

I have two and I do like them... so yes it would be a good discession I think...

But do look around for the one below, it will save you about 50 to 90 bucks and it's the same as the 2000 without all the stuff you don't need..for the install in the router table...

**********
Just a note.... I did get one (ft2000e) off Amazon for 115.oo bucks it was a factory recondititon one and I'm very happy with it...90 warr.day thing..
I don't recall the name of the company that reworked the router but if you ask I will find the invoice and post it..
Here's the phone number that was on the box 336-434-3171 ,I'm sure they sell them all the time..
